Answer The Call’s 33rd Annual Game and Family Day

August 17, 2017

The New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund (Answer the Call) recently hosted their Annual Game and Family Day — which is their oldest tradition. They invite all 600 families of fallen New York first responders they serve to be guests at a New York Mets game. This year, they were honored to have the children of fallen heroes EMT Arroyo, NYPD Sgt. Tuozzolo, NYPD Det. Lemm, and FDNY Batallion Chief Fahy throw out the first pitch.

For 33 years the families Answer the Call serves come together on this special day to strengthen their network of support amongst one another. They have food, drinks, games for the kids, face painting, photo booths, players signing balls, and so much more! The families are reminded that their loved one, who made the ultimate sacrifice, will never be forgotten.

Answer the Call is incredibly grateful for the RoomFunding from Hotels for Hope that allows them to continue to make this cherished event free of charge for the families they serve. They give thanks to the hotels, clients, and guests who donated to their RoomFunding Project. To learn more about Answer the Call click here and to see more photos from the event click here.

For every room night that actualizes, Hotels for Hope donates $2 to Answer the Call’s RoomFunding project…at no cost to you. But they need your help to reach their goal of 4,000 room nights. How do you do that? There are two simple ways to do this…

  1. Book room nights from your next business trip or a personal stay. Every room night matters and gets them closer to reaching their goal.
  2. Commit your next meeting or event. If your company hosts meetings or conferences, you could support Answer the Call in a bigger way. Whether you are organizing a conference, meeting, board retreat, sporting event, festival or large consumer event…we’ve got your back. Our services and technology will make planning these events much easier.
