Job Summary:

Hotels for Hope is looking for an Accountant to join our growing events team. The role will be responsible for managing and executing the company’s financial objectives.

Hotels for Hope brokers and manages hotel inventory for large consumer events, races, festivals, conferences, etc. Our technology allows clients to extend their digital eco-system, capture valuable consumer data, create incremental revenue streams and increase attendee experience. All while creating a better tomorrow for children.

Through our niche crowdfunding platform, RoomFunding™, $2 per every actualized room night is donated to help children live happier and healthier lives. To date, we’ve donated over $850,000 to nonprofit partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by analyzing information from the general ledger system and department heads
  • Maintain and balance Quickbooks accounting system
  • Manage invoicing and accounts receivables
  • Analyze and verify information by creating spreadsheet reports
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining and recording and files
  • Prepare payments by accruing expenses and assigning account numbers when needed
  • Request disbursements and reconcile accounts
  • Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures
  • Provide accounting support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information; convert data to general ledger system; obtain supplementary information for preparing financial statements
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, continued education, participating in professional organizations, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
  • 3 years of accounting experience
  • Experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Vendor and customer reconciliations experience
  • Strict attention to detail, highly organized and efficient
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoys an active and dynamic TEAM culture!
  • Strong customer service mindset is a must!
